Thank you Eric for everything I learned in this class! It was definitely one of my favorite classes I have taken at Dixie State. I learned a lot from you and the critiques you gave.

Package Assignment - D Week

This assignment was super frustrating... I realized even more that I don't like being in front of the camera, especially as a reporter. I'm comfortable to say that it's definitely not my calling in life. I did 2 videos because the first one of d-week turned out really bad... the interviews I did you ended up not being able to hear them because of the background music. With both videos I didn't experiment with any editing, I just put the raw material I had and massed it together. I used iMovie to do the package editing but with it crashing on me 10 times, messing up my computer, and having my internet keep cutting out... I was about done with the assignment. Overall it was a good experience to see how a video is done and the process someone has to go through to make it.

Illustration

With this Illustration piece, I wanted it to be more personal. When someone looks at this photograph, I know they will feel something or interpret it differently depending upon what they have experienced in their life. For me I wanted this picture to show a lot. It could show feminism, it also could show no longer wanting to be silent or aloud to be pushed around. My response to this was finally starting to take off the barrier and to have a voice, but I want viewers to interpret it how they want to. It will be interesting to see what they felt about it.

For this picture I wanted it up close and personal. I kept the focus on the eyes and duck tape by using a shallow depth of field. I also changed it to black and white and zoomed in to eliminate any distractions.

Physical: I knew I wanted to keep the photo simple with no distractions, so I kept the back ground just that by using a white sheet.

Psychological: Like I said above, I want this to be interpreted differently depending upon what each viewers had experienced in their life.
